Stardust

Stardust began with the title “The Great American Poets” who were the lyricists of the Jazz Era and before. Our first show was the music of George and Ira Gershwin. the music from that program may be heard here.

The repertoire expanded and the program expounded on the birth of jazz from Joplin, Armstrong, Whiteman, Berlin and Gershwin, to name a few. The lyrics always included the verses of the songs, and audiences were challenged to name the songs after hearing the introductory verses. The show was created to entertain seniors, but, to our delight, the young were on the edge of their seats.
